How it all started

Trained as a molecular biologist (PhD in Molecular Biochemistry), Arindam found his passion for wines while teaching Anatomy & Physiology at Penn State University, which led to his Diploma in Wines from WSET in 2021.

As an Assistant Professor of Biology, Arindam started working in the service industry; first at Penns Woods Winery, followed by wine classes at Cooperage Whiskey Bar in downtown Philadelphia and then as a sommelier at City Winery Philadelphia.

What’s next?

After completing his Diploma in Wines from WSET, Arindam immediately started teaching for the then Philadelphia APP, Neal Ewing Wine Services, now PhillyWine LLC. He teaches all levels of WSET courses.

He has successfully earned several other wine and sake certifications as well and works at Total Wine & More

He started his own consultancy business, Perfect Pour Experience LLC where he offers private wine tasting, wine reviews, wine classes, wine pairing dinners and more. Check out Services for more detailed information.

Versatile charm

Apart from being a wine educator and writer, Arindam is an avid cook, and often explores the BYOB scene in Philadelphia. He also loves to paint, drink scotch and IPAs.
